Below is a suggested text for the message (copy & paste into the website):

Your Highness Sheikh Mohammed,

I appeal to you for clemency in the case of the seventeen Indians between the ages of 17 and 30 who have been given the death sentence.

There has been a miscarriage of justice in this case, and from the facts it is clear that these men are innocent of the crimes accused. It is also extremely disturbing to learn that these innocent young men have been tortured and are to be hanged, yet you read every day in the press that Emiratis accused of similar crimes have been given very lenient sentences such as 3 months jail – you may recall of a recent case when a driver who killed another person by dangerous driving was given just a 3 month jail sentence. Or the case of retired civil engineer David Bell who died when 19 year old Saif Mohammed Obeid Al Ka’Abi collided into Mr Bell while racing with a friend. But this teenager from the United Arab Emirates was jailed for just two months by the court in Dubai.

Your Highness, I urge that you reopen the case and show the world that Islam and the Rule of Dubai is based on fairness and justice for all, as stated in Sura An-Nisa:58 (4:48)

“Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He (Allâh) gives you! Truly, Allâh is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer”

The families of the accused are undergoing great agony, and Sikhs across the world are extremely distressed at the sentencing of the 17 people to death in the absence of concrete proof. They were not a threat for the national security of Dubai and we strongly oppose this verdict. I appeal to your highness to personally intervene in this case to ensure justice prevails, and to show the world that Islam is a faith based on fairness and compassion for all human beings, regardless of their race or religion.

Your Highness, may I also remind you of one of your wonderful quotes,

“The greatest influence was my father…from him I learnt to be patient and to deliberate before passing judgment.”

Unfortunately it seems that the Dubai courts may not have taken heed of this excellent advice when passing this hasty sentence on these 17 innocent Indians.

Once again I urge that these innocent persons be freed, and the real perpetrators of the crime are caught.

  5. It is well known that the three injured eye witnessed denied any role of these 17 Indians in the crime which they never did. What else prove of their innocence is required to the govt of Sharjah?
It was a failure of the polise department of Sharjah, which framed these innocent Indians after 10 days of their failure of arrest of the main culprits but instead of hiding its face in shame, they fabricated a plan and arrested innocent Indians.
Sir, we are not kids. the very first question which created doubt is; how could seventeen persons kill one man? Did they make a queue to kill the deceased? How many weapons are recovered from their possesion? Were all those recovered weapons used in stabbing/ killing? How is it possible that the deceased lay there and waited all 17 to hit him, kill him? Any man can not survive if stabbed several times so could the deceased lay there in wait for the killers to stab him turn by turn? IMPOSSIBLE-ONLY A CONCOCTED STORY.
